Selection Process
Employee Application:
Our employee selection process
begins with the completion of an Employee Application. It is here
that we gather the basic information about a candidate; demographics,
education, skills, employment history, work references, employment
eligibility (INS I-9), and any supporting documents.
Interviews:
A staffing coordinator will conduct
a one-on-one interview with each candidate. This process aids
in determining an initial "Placement Rating". A number of interview
techniques are used to draw out the candidate's true qualifications,
experience and personality.
Skill Testing:
Each candidate is thoroughly tested
on their stated skills using Prove-It-All software. Test scores
are compiled and recorded.
Work Reference:
Our coordinator contacts all work
references and asks questions regarding the candidate's performance,
attendance, and interaction with co-workers and supervisors.
Background Checks:
Background checks are done on
Horizon Staffing Services employees at our customer's request.
Drug Tests:
For clients who require drug testing,
HSS will drug test employees placed on long term assignments at
our cost.
Placement Ratings:
Placement Ratings is Horizon's
way of separating candidates from employees. Only those candidates
who obtain a Placement Rating of "Above Average" and "Excellent"
will become Horizon employees. Only those who maintain these ratings
are retained by HSS
Client Evaluations:
Clients will be asked to complete
Employee Evaluations for Horizon employees periodically in order
that we can ensure that employees are living up to our standards.
These evaluations will be used to update the employees' "Placement
Rating".
